PROJECT LOCATION: Savoy, Illinois |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This kitchen was beautifully remodeled to be a more open, bright space with lots of additional storage. The new custom cabinetry are maple, with full overlay doors and full length pulls. The counter tops are Corian (Tarragon color). A "sun tube" was installed in the kitchen ceiling for additional natural light. The floor is constructed of "reclaimed railroad ties", resawn into flooring, from Thailand. The original square spike holes remained and were filled with square pegs on site. The flooring was then sanded and finished with two coats of "street shoe" waterborne varnish. (This was a special feature for the clients, who visit Thailand several weeks every year). To protect the wood floor, an 18" row of ceramic tile was placed
in front of the windows (and under hanging plants) to catch any dripping
water. |
