PROJECT LOCATION: Mahomet, Illinois |

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This new barn was constructed of reclaimed barn timbers and was designed and built from a picture. It is a 1 1/2 story building with 1,024 s.f. on the main floor and 640 s.f. On the upper level. The interior finish is a "rough" look with old barn siding used for the flooring, rough wood used on the stairway and large "chunky" handrails. The main level consists of an office area, storage area and bathroom. There is also a garage for a lawn tractor and storage. The upper level is a large open area with sliding glass doors to a cantilevered balcony which overlooks a river. There are Pella French doors at the entry, Velux roof windows, and channel rustic vertical cedar siding. The roof shingles have zinc strips added to prevent moss growth from the heavily wooded site. |
